FAQ's

Question:  Why do you use both digital and film for recording the photographic images?

There are various reasons why photographers prefer film or digital images.  Digital photography has advanced greatly in the past few years and digital images provide instant feedback to the photographer.  The "raw" digital images created from professional digital cameras provide additional options to the photographer to manipulate and adjust the digital files on the computer.  The professional types of film that are used can provide additional exposure latitude and a wider dynamic range to capture the extreme dark and light portions of scene on a single image.   In either event, high quality digital images from the digital camera or those scanned from the film images are combined and processed in the digital darkroom.   The end result is Creative Photographic Imagery that you will cherish for decades.

Question:  Why do you advertise as providing creative photographic images?

There are some wedding photographers that simply snap the wedding photos and provide minimal or no post processing of the images.  These photos lack luster and emotion.  Photo Image Ltd takes the time to capture the emotions of the day and perform post processing of all the images to provide the couple with dazzling and crisp images that are full of life.  Post processing includes adjusting each print for the optimum quality as well as providing special processing (for example, creating a black & white image with portions of the image that are hand colored such as the brides bouquet).  Photo Image Ltd believes that the bride and groom deserve the highest quality wedding package at a reasonable price instead of mass produced images at a low price.  That is why Photo Image Ltd advertises the use of creative photographic imagery.

Question:  How would you describe your wedding photography style?

When I first started out, the only style that was used was the traditional style.  As you are probably aware, this style primarily uses poised subjects.  I have modified my approach to use a photojournalistic style to capture the events of the day with very few formal poises.  A photojournalistic style adds more life to the images and captures the emotions of the event.  The poised photographs are of course still taken.  Examples are group shots, cutting the cake, first toast, etc.   However, a larger percentage of the photographs are taken to capture the events and emotions of the day.  Some photographers also define a third style called “candid.”  I tend to group the candid style along with the photojournalistic style as both attempt to capture the days events and emotions without a lot of poised photographs.
